about
New single from the Italian melodic power metal band Kalidia!
"Circle of Six" was recorded at the same time as the band's latest album "The Frozen Throne" and was originally planned to be used as a bonus track for the album. However, we felt the song was too good to end up as just a bonus track, and that it was a good time to release it now, to make the wait for the third Kalidia album a little bit bearable for everyone. :)
The song is inspired by the book "The Dwarves" by Markus Heitz
lyrics
Circle of Six lyrics
A long time ago, five portals were built
And all the dwarves preserve us sage
Wizards and elves (are) praying to their Gods
To keep us free from the dark
Over the mountains where evil lies
The curse is pushing to break our walls
But they are locked up by a spell
And the shadows won’t spread here
Until the moon changed
And our fate was reshaped
From that moment
Every wish and every dream I had
Was taken away
Evil creatures were destroying our lives
And everything we were fighting for
Around the stone, the Circle of Six
Reunited the forces to defend
As soon as the ritual begun
Suddenly a black power was released
None of the wizards realized
That the traitor was one of them
He was so ambitious to sell our land
In exchange for knowledge
Until the moon changed
And the portal fell down
From that moment
Every wish and every dream I had
Was taken away
Evil creatures were destroying our lives
And everything we were fighting for

Melissa Bonny is the best symphonic female vocalist not named Floor Jansen. Sadly, Ad Infinitum chooses to throw in incomprehensible death metal growling - which I flatly can't stand.
The band seems to have lost a bit of identity and direction. moving_pictures
